Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood by the Rhythm Chiefs

Dusty Ciggaar from the Rhythm Chiefs plays a solo during the number 'Texas Flood' by Stevie Ray Vaughan

Dusty Ciggaar is a 15 year old, born in 1991, and raised in The Netherlands. His favorite guitar players are Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He plays and holds his body a lot like SRV and also makes similar facial expressions while soloing. His myspace site at: www.myspace.com/dustyfc contains a big photo of an even younger Dusty, standing with Jimmie Vaughan-- and the expression on Vaughan's face is one of a man who just found his missing car keys. Google Video has lots of Dusty Ciggaar videos. I've been watching them today, along with SRV vids, and just getting goosebumps. Dusty and his band The Rhythm Chiefs tour throughout Europe.

Do we have us a Golden Child here folks? Decide for yourself.

Also visit www.rhythmchiefs.nl/ and listen to the opening page music.

Hi, Dusty looks sometimes very much like Dave Gonzalez as well, specially the hair.

God I wish I'd have had the balls to put my music in video form on the internet - I could easily do this when I was 14 - and I certainly don't think i'm a prodigy or 'golden child'! I suppose being a prodigy is almost as much about exposure as having the talent...

I don't see the point of posting this . It is OK but, you can see stuff like this in any bar in America on any given night. It's very very amatuerish. Lets stick to the real deal. This reminds me of the idiots who clog Youtube with their lame versions of classic songs.

Anon #3 (6/3/09)- I'm going to publish your comment and respond to it once only.

When a 15 year old in the Netherlands decides to learn and perform this kind of music live, it's still remarkable. See how this could be?

You are welcome to make yourself known and submit a better example of what you consider to be "the real deal", whether it be you personally or someone you admire. I might be interested in featuring it.

I can feature adult virtuoso players all day long, but feel it's important to recognize the kids out there who have a decent affinity and aptitude for this sort of thing. Of all things a young person in this era could become interested in, Blues guitar sure isn't a high priority generally.

That is really the point-- the real deal.

I'm painfully aware of the lameness uploaded to Youtube, but make distinctions too. If the kid featured above doesn't continue to improve, his "kid novelty" will wear off and he'll be another marginal adult player in a sea of them. Or he could become another Trucks or Bonamassa. I like to support these kids who perform live. I don't feature kids who robotically play from some TAB
over their bedroom webcams.

Hope that clarifies where I'm coming from. You can always also start your own super guitar blog and give us the real deal from your high level perspective. If it's good, I'll link to it!

Cheers!
