Trem King- A More Affordable and Pitch Stable Guitar Trem!
Seriously, what more do we want in a trem? Well, a couple basic things would still be nice.
With less whammy to your wallet and more pitch stability for your guitar, the Trem-King fixed bridge vibrato system solves the problems associated with conventional & floating bridge designs.
"Fixed bridge design" is the key factor-- the bridge doesn't rock or move. And yet you can pull up or descend like a floater. In the demo video above, he does octave bends with an open drone string, and EVEN detunes to a drop-D and keeps playing.
The Trem-King TK-1 is available in black, chrome or gold and incorporates components from the good folks at Graph Tech.
Ok. It floats, stays in tune when strings are bent or detuned, retrofits into most standard trem equipped guitars and costs under $200! Oh yeah, string replacement is not a "find the allen wrench" ordeal either.
Everything we need from a trem-- unless you also want a trem that includes a clock, bottle opener, reading lamp, home pregnancy tester, etc.

That looks like quite a good product. I've not used trems for years because I get fed up with my guitar going out of tune. I've tried a Floyd Rose, but the locking bridge and locking nut make string changing a right pain in the arse. I don't want all that kind of fuss.
Really cool design that takes a good bit of woodworking experience to install. Once it is in, however, It does do as it claims -- it stays in tune. Even with a broken string, dropped D and other slackened tunings (open D open G & DADGAD have all worked too) the unit holds in tune well. The feel is similar to a Kahler 2300. The placement of the bar between the first and second strings exemplifies this. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Floyd Rose, but this opens further possibilities. How about a dive bomb in "Kashmir" or a little warble in "The Rain Song?" This stuff is possible from other trems, but not without MAJOR tuning and spring resets - not so on the Trem King.
Jabo: Thanks so much for stopping by to share the tech insight!! We really appreciate it!
